Harriet B. Dixon, 83, Boise, formerly Ontario, passed away of natural causes on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005, just days before her 84th birthday. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m., today, at Cloverdale Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Boise. Services are under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home.
Harriet was born Dec. 19, 1921, in Hague, N.D., to Anthony and Anna (Wolfe) Fischer. She married John J. Dixon, on Sept. 4, 1939 in Bismarck, N.D. They lived for a short time in Boise, then moved to Ontario, where they raised their family. John and Harriet ran a freight terminal for Sites Silverwheel until retirement.
Harriet attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Ontario, where she was active in the Altar Society and ran the “Little Red House” rummage store. She enjoyed traveling, making ceramics, crocheting and making wonderful Christmas cookies and candies for friends and family.
Harriet is survived by her son, John A. Dixon and his wife, Mary, Meridian; her daughter, Renae Parr and her husband, Jim. Molalla, Ore.; her daughter, Joyce Crock, Renton, Wash.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Dixon in 1987, and her son, G. Richard Dixon in 1980.
