Sheehy, Union, now commands one of the largest Guard units in the state. The 3rd Battalion consists of units from  Woodburn, Prineville, Redmond, Hermiston, The Dalles, Hood River, Pendleton, La Grande, Baker City and Ontario. Oregon National Guard Adjutant General, Maj. Gen. Raymond F. Rees along with top Guard officers from Idaho were also on hand for the change of command ceremony.
