Weekend events set in Nyssa



NYSSA — Nyssa will be busy Saturday with a citywide yard sale sponsored by the Nyssa Chamber of Commerce that will be held all day, starting at 8 a.m., and a Kids Fair downtown, 9 a.m. to noon,  sponsored by the Oregon Department of Transportation and the Nyssa Lions Club.

About 20 locations have signed up for the yard sale and maps will be available, starting at 8 a.m., at the Nyssa Chamber office, 105 Main Street.

Activities for the Kid’s Fair include safety booths, games, commercial booths, a bicycle rodeo, fire safety information with smokehouse, child identification and fingerprinting and the A & W Bicycle Rally.

Area children are invited to decorate their bikes and in the parade, which starts at noon.  Entry forms are available at A & W.

The Nyssa Public Library will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and will have activities in the parking lot.

A “Pack-a-Pick-up” event will be held to benefit the Nyssa Community Food Pantry.  A pick-up will be parked by the food pantry, and people are asked to bring non-perishable items to help fill up the bed.
