| Article: | Courthouse bans check payments IDAHO FALLS (AP) — One of Idaho’s biggest counties is no longer accepting personal checks as a way to pay court fines and fees. Now, it’s only cash, money orders, credit cards or cashier’s checks at the Bonneville County Courthouse in Idaho Falls. Burt Butler, the county’s trial court administrator, says the decision comes because too many people were writing bad checks, creating extra work for court staff. In recent years, he says the court has received more than $25,000 in checks later deemed uncashable due to insufficient funds. |
