Russell R. Ellis

July 15, 1927 - Oct. 16, 2009

Payette

Russell R. Ellis, 82, Payette, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, at the Boise Veterans’ Hospital.  Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Sand Hollow Baptist Church in Sand Hollow.  Pastor Dallas Claypool will officiate. Russ was born July 15, 1927, in Burbank, Calif., to parents, Russell and Lucille Ellis. Russ moved to Idaho in the ’70s because he loved this area.  Shortly after moving here, he met his best friend, Dick Meyer. They were good friends until the end. Thank you. In 1977, Russ met and married the love of his life, Barbara Ellis. In that union, they adopted their angel, MaryAnne. Their daughter brought life into them and a true joy.  He also had two step-children, Vicki Reynolds and Stephen Tuttle. Russ worked for the Outdoorsman in Ontario for many years, and worked at A-1 Key and Lock until he retired at the age of 80. Russ was a member of the Elks Lodge of 53 years. He really enjoyed the time spent there and the friends that he made. Thank you for all your help during this time of loss. His true joy was golf. He was still teaching at Purple Sage up till his death. His favorite time was spent on the courses around the area. Thank you to the Weiser guys who always called and made him feel welcome to ride along and to the great friends from Payette who came to visit and spend time with him. He leaves behind his children, Larry, Linda, MaryAnn, Vicki and Stephen. His wife, Barbara Ellis, preceded him in death. You were the best dad, husband and friend. Thank you for all you gave us. You will be missed forever.
