Prescription cards available from county

The Payette County Commissioners wish to remind Payette County Residents that the Payette County NACO (National Association of Counties), prescription drug discount cards are available. This card can save you money on your prescriptions and even prescriptions your pet may need. Don’t have a card yet? You may pick up the cards at the Payette County Clerk’s office, or at pharmacies in our area. That includes pharmacies in Ontario, Oregon as well.

Patrick’s Pub to hold fish fry, poker run

The annual Patrick’s Pub Fish Fry and Poker Run will be held Saturday, Aug. 15 at Patrick’s Pub, 815 First Ave. in Payette.

Poker run registration will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and is $15 per bike or $25 per couple. Food will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. All proceeds from the event will go to the Hope House.

The poker run begins at 1 p.m. and all bikes will be back by 5 p.m. Music will be presented by “I Want Candy.”

Republicans to meet Aug. 25

Because of the upcoming vacancy Oct. 1 in the position of prosecuting attorney for Payette County, the Payette County Republican Central Committee will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Fruitland City Hall.

Individuals interested and qualified to fill the position of Payette County prosecuting attorney are requested to send a letter of introduction and a resume to the Chairman of the Central Committee at least three days prior to the meeting.

The Central Committee is responsible recommend three individuals to the County Commissioners for further consideration. The general public is welcome to attend. For more information, call (208) 707-5005.

Rally for the Cure golf tournament

Scotch PinesGolf Course will host the Rally for the Cure Sept. 17.  This tournament supports breast cancer research through the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
