The City of Payette is moving forward with the fire station construction by opening bids from contractors on Thursday at 5 p.m.

The Payette City Council will open bids Thursday evening for the construction of the new fire station. The new station will be located on the corner of Seventh Avenue North and U.S. Highway 95.


Cruise Night events set for Sept. 10 and Sept. 11
The 22nd Annual A&W Cruise Night is set for Sept. 10 and Sept. 11.

Officials issue warning on scams
Local law enforcement officials are sending out another warning on internet crimes and phone scams in the area.

School Speed Warning
Payette Police Department would like to remind everyone that school started in Payette on Wednesday, Aug. 25. With that, are increased numbers of parents driving students to school, children walking and or riding their bikes to school. Speed limits in school zones in Payette are posted at 20 miles per hour on school days between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. In an effort to keep our children safe, we will have increased patrols in school zones enforcing the speed limits. Citations for speeding in a school zone carry an enhanced fine of $151.50.

Harris earns award
Elizabeth Harris, Payette, was awarded a 2010 Congressional Award during a ceremony held Aug. 27 at the Senate Auditorium at the Idaho State Capital Building in Boise.
