The Payette School Board and Superintendent Pauline King have selected Mrs. Marci Holcomb as this years Educator of the Year for the Payette Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Awards Banquet and PACCSY. Holcomb teaches Business, Marketing, Entrepreneurship and is also the Yearbook Advisor at Payette High School. She is married to Mike Holcomb and they have two daughters, Paige and Anna. Holcomb is committed to students, their education and to helping them realize all that they can become and it gives us great pleasure in honoring her as Educator of the Year for 2010. Holcomb will be awarded during the Chamber’s annual Payette Chamber of Commerce Serves You and Awards Banquet Saturday at the Payette Community Center, 633 Second Ave. South. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will begin at 7 p.m. with awards to follow shortly. To get tickets to the event, contact the chamber at (208) 642-2362. Ticket prices are $30 per person or $50 a couple.

People for Payette’s Future Inc., and Snake River Alliance held a public meeting Monday afternoon at the Payette County Courthouse to voice their concerns on a proposed nuclear-generated power plant.

For Ann Curtis, most of her life has been centered around Payette and Gem County and the historical aspect of the area.
